Introduction

Tanzania, located in eastern Africa is the 4th poorest country in the world and home to more than 1.4 million orphans. These children are orphaned primarily due to the growing AIDS epidemic and are often taken in by community members where they receive inconsistent care due to the lack of resources.

Orphans International Tanzania (OIT), under the umbrella of Orphans International Worldwide, OIT was created to help with the immediate and long term needs of orphans while working to improve the community it serves. Partnered with a local organization in the Moshi area of Tanzania, Orphans International Tanzania will ensure that children receive:
-Nutritious food
-Clothing
-School fees
-After-school programs (including English and computer classes)
-Health care
-Access to a library
-Vocational training in childcare, sustainable agriculture, etc.
-Training and support for guardians and caretakers
